Match the Dots
It looks like dominoes, and it uses dominoes as the base, but Match the Dots is much more. At the most basic level, it allows the person with dementia or Alzheimer's to become reacquainted with a fondly remembered pastime. The feel of the tiles and the sound as they hit the table and each other help trigger pleasant memories. Because they are familiar, it is easier for the person to relate to the activities.
But this isn’t just dominoes.

Introduce the Tiles...
The tiles from the first bag and the corresponding templates are used to introduce the tiles and the concept of matching them together by the number of dots.
Add More Complexity...
If the person is successful with the simpler templates, more tiles and the corresponding templates are used to increase the complexity of the activities.
Play Simple Games...
As the person becomes familiar with the tiles, the instructions include several games that can be played with two to four players. Some are simpler using only a small number of tiles while others use the full set.
When Done, Put the Tiles Away....
When done, ask the person to sort the tiles back into their bags by matching the picture on the bag label with the tiles. You will be amazed by the look of satisfaction from helping out by putting the game away on their own!
