How to Use
- Start by offering the pieces from only one bag at a time. If the player finds this too easy, increase the challenge by offering the pieces from more than one bag. With a little guidance, a person with dementia or Alzheimer's can complete the puzzle on their own leading to a sense of pride and accomplishment.
- Most people start a puzzle by completing the border first, and that's how we do it. Starting with the first bag, the player can work on the top border.
- Once that is complete, the pieces in each of the next three bags are used (one at a time) to complete the rest of the border.
- The pieces in the last two bags are used to finish the puzzle.
- Once completed, the final step is for the player to take the puzzle apart and sort the pieces back into the color-coded bags.

Previous puzzles I have found are either too easy or too hard, this one was perfect. My dad also has arthritis in his hands, so the pieces are a good size for him to grab.

Wonderful caregiver tool!

This puzzle kit designed for elderly and/or people with dementia is well done and quite a wonderful aid for caregivers to interact with those they care for.In my case it definitely required interaction to work with the concept of bags of pieces with coloured dots. It is a great way of organizing the puzzle in a way that isn’t overwhelming for the person doing it!Thanks so much -keep up the good workElaine Hay

Beautiful picture but quality control was a disappointment.

I purchased this puzzle for my brother who has suffered a serious traumatic brain injury. In an instant, he became a permanently, profoundly disabled man.This 35-piece puzzle is beautiful. The pieces are a nice size and they fit together tightly. While intended for people with a cognitive impairment or dementia, nothing on the box or in the packaging draws attention to that. It may seem odd to say this, but I found the packaging to be very respectful. Nothing demeaning at all.While I didn't know when I ordered it, it would be helpful for the purchaser to know that this puzzle is best done with a helper (who doesn't have cognitive impairment). There are a number of bits and pieces included (such as colour-coded bags and a variety of laminated illustrated sheets) that are intended to assist in the puzzle making.I had hoped to send this puzzle to my brother who is still in hospital and bed-bound, many months after his accident. I had opened it in advance (sure glad I did) to assist my brother.He would never be able to figure everything out without assistance.My primary disappointment is in how poorly the beautiful picture is adhered to the rigid backer board. I'm so glad I opened the box, because I discovered the MANY places where the picture was not glued to the backer board. I carefully glued everything back on.Now I will need to wait until my brother is discharged from hospital andis brought to live with me (in another part of Canada). Then we can do this gorgeous puzzle together.My parting suggestion to the manufacturer: check the quality of the glue used.

Puzzle does not overwhelm recipient; bright colorful

Bright colors and sturdy puzzle keeps recipient’s attention. Low number of pieces does not overwhelm and keeps interest. Highly recommend!
