Numbered 8 Piece Jigsaw Puzzles - 3 in 1 Set

Probably not many people on here nitpicking the nuances of dementia puzzles for their toddlers but FWIW here is my opinion!I got this for my developmentally delayed 3 year old son. He was born extremely prematurely and has some “quirks” and sensory needs. He LOVES puzzles, but can get extremely overstimulated and easily upset/frustrated… He loves these guided dementia puzzles in a frame, he will sit and do them over and over. I think he enjoys being able to do it himself without needing help - but they still present a challenge to his fine motor development, pattern recognition, sorting, naming, etc.We have an Active Minds dementia puzzle which he LOVES (it’s a number of years old, back when the puzzle was made of thick lightweight unbreakable plastic and came in a magnetized “case” holder, I don’t think they are like this now). It also has a guide. Active Minds rebranded as Relish a while back; we got another puzzle from them a few months ago and it was nowhere near the same quality. It was nice enough for mid-weight cardboard but nothing like the older one. I was underwhelmed.Then I stumbled on this 3 pack and had to get them to try! My son likes counting the numbered pieces, sorting them (each of the puzzles is numbered 1-8 in the back in a different color), and putting each together then taking it apart and bagging it up.The graphics are high quality and vibrant. The puzzle box and pieces and guide are all thick and high quality cardboard. My son isn’t gentle, sat on completed puzzles atop the guide, and they held up well.Each of the three puzzles is cut the same way. There is a single guide/“frame” that works for all 3 puzzles.We visited grandma this weekend out of the blue and needed something to entertain him so he wouldn’t be too rough. The unopened package was delivered that day as we were leaving and thus was in the car.Perfect!I love that it is a 3 in 1, good high quality images, good variety, good durability, nice thick storage box.Included were labeled bags for storage, a full color high resolution image sheet of each of the puzzles, all pieces, a frame and some into on numbered puzzles, etc.All felt of a nice quality and had all the right little details (instructions clearly written by a good native English speaker, very professional).I do prefer my Active Minds old plastic dementia puzzle (which cost more than this for that single puzzle) as it’s lightweight and even more unbreakable… but I was much less impressed with that other company’s newer puzzle. THIS puzzle is higher quality and value than my newer Relish puzzle. This has equally nice graphics and box but is even a bit nicer finish and thicker.I find the price very reasonable for a such a high quality 3 in 1 numbered guide puzzle. They aren’t cheap (and if they are, they will not last long).My son (and “grandma” - my dad’s longtime girlfriend) will greatly enjoy these puzzles for a while. Grandma is an avid puzzler but many skills are declining, we will leave it at that. It’s nice to have something that is such good common ground for them both without being too frustrating. Something she can still help him with.

This 3 puzzle package for people with dementia is just outstanding. The pieces are heavy cardboard that fit together well. The pictures are engaging with great colors. It has 3 thick plastic bags that are labeled with the description of each puzzle and you and your loved one can put the pieces in the bags together. The puzzle tray has numbered segments that correspond to the number on the back of the puzzle piece. Each puzzle has the exact same shape of pieces so that all the puzzle pieces fit the tray in the same way.My next door neighbor has dementia and I have been able to loan this family several great finds from Amazon to help with mental stimulation. We started at puzzles with 35 pieces and now we are at puzzles with 8 pieces. We have also tried several types of painting with water products, and felt board pieces. I highly recommend this set of 3 puzzles and it can stand up to heavy use. I think it is important to have different activities available depending on their needs.This comes with a fantastic direction sheet giving tips on how to engage your loved one in this activity. If I could give this 10 stars, I would. Everything about it is top notch.
